Episode 27 – “Unfunny Pastry & The Walking Wallets”

Hosted by Breffni O’Sullivan, Jon Hozier-Byrne & Conor Luke Barry

Recorded: May 7th 2012

This week, Breffni, Jon & Conor take a look at Indonesian martial arts extravaganza, “The Raid“; and the latest installment in the American Pie franchise; “American Pie: Reunion“. One of these is brilliant, the other not so much.

Also, in “Conor Barry’s Trailer Park“, we preview Sacha Baron Cohen’s “The Dictator” (and how it seems to compare with the style of his previous films “Borat” and “Bruno“), Andrew Garfield in the new “Amazing Spider-Man” trailer (and whether the franchise needed a reboot), every action star of any note from the past two decades in Sylvester Stallone’s “The Expendables 2” (and why it might just be stupid enough to be entertaining… but probably won’t be) and, finally, the third trailer for the final Batman film helmed by Christopher Nolan; “The Dark Knight Rises” (and how it has to be better than “The Dark Knight“)

Episode 26 – “Being Elmo & Albert Nobbs: A Gentleman’s Journey?”

Hosted by Breffni O’Sullivan, Jon Hozier-Byrne & Conor Luke Barry

Recorded: April 30th 2012

This week, Breffni, Jon & Conor take a look at a sterling performance from Glenn Close in “Albert Nobbs” and assess whether the rest of the film lives up to the performance, and the life of Kevin Clash in “Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey“.

In “Conor Barry’s Trailer Park“, we preview Tim Burton’s latest adaptation; “Dark Shadows” starring Johnny Depp and discuss Burton’s career as a whole. We also look at “Samsara“, a sumptuous-looking film from the makers of “Koyaanisqatsi“, and Judd Apatow’s psuedo-sequeal to “Knocked-Up“; “This Is 40” starring Paul Rudd.

This episode is an absolute blast, we hope you enjoy it.

Recorded: April 23rd 2012

FILM SHOW ASSEMBLE~! This week, Breffni, Jon and Conor take an advanced look at Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers” and give it a good ole’ review. Also reviewed this week are the Aardman animation “Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists” starring the voices of Hugh Grant and David Tennant, and the Joss Whedon-produced “The Cabin in the Woods” starring Chris “Thor” Hemsworth, the latter of which proves quite tricky to review without spoilers.

Also, in “Conor Barry’s Trailer Park“, we preview Alien prequel “Prometheus“, Paul Dano in “Ruby Sparks” and Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom“. We also have an in-depth discussion as to whether or not the star system is a valid and constructive way to rate films.
